PRESENT PERFECT CONTINOUS

PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS is used to describe an

action which happened in the past and it has been continued

up to uncertain time in the future.

Present Perfect Continuous usually focuses on the duration of

an action / activity or since when the action / activity begun.

For example :

S + have / has + been + V1 ing

1. She has been waiting for 30 minutes.

2. He has been studying English for 3 years.

3. I have been teaching English for 7 years.

4. They have been studying here since last year.

For example :

S + have / has + not + been + V1 ing

1. She has not been waiting for 30 minutes.

2. He has not been studying English for 3 years.

3. I have not been teaching English for 7 years.

4. They have not been studying here since last year.

For example :

Have / has + S + been + V1 ing?

1. Has he been waiting for 30 minutes?
